Socible ("We") are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.

We understand that other people’s use of personal data can be a big concern for users of social networks and We have therefore developed this policy (together with our terms of use (the “Terms”) to explain how any personal data We collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Please read this policy carefully in conjunction with our Terms.

By using the Socible App (“our app”) you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.

What information does Socible collect about you?

  • Information you give Socible

    To register to use our app you will have to provide us with information about you such as your name, email address, profile picture and access to your location details. You will also have the option to provide additional information on your profile but this is optional.

  • Information Socible collects about you and your device

    Once you have registered to use our app We may automatically collect the following information:

    • Technical information, including the type of mobile device you use, a unique device identifier (for example your IMEI number), the MAC address of your device’s wireless network interface, or the mobile phone number used by your device, mobile network information, your mobile operating system, the type of mobile browser you use, time zone setting; and
    • Information stored on your device, including contact information, friends lists, login information, photos, videos or other digital content; and
    • Your location details. We use GPS technology to determine your current location to enable other users to see that you are nearby. If you do not want your location to be known or you have previously enabled location services but wish to turn them off you should access the ‘location services’ settings on your mobile device.

      Because you can only register to use Socible if you are aged 18 or over, We do not knowingly collect any information about children or minors. We would never knowingly market to children or anyone under the age of 18. If you are less than 18 years of age, We would ask that you do not submit any information to us.

      If We become aware that anyone under the age of 18 has registered with us and provided us with personal information We will take steps to terminate that person’s account and delete their profile information from Socible. We may however retain your email and IP address to ensure that you do not try and get around this policy by re-registering to use Socible.

Information Socible receives from other sources, such as Facebook

Please be aware that when you are registering to use the app through Facebook or Google+, you are giving them personal information so We would recommend that you read their privacy policies as Socible does not control how they use their information.

We are also working closely with third parties (including, for example, business partners, advertising networks, analytics provider and search information providers) and may receive information about you from them..

What does Socible do with this information?

Socible makes it easy for you to find people, near you, by posting information about yourself. When using our app, you should assume that anything you post will be viewable to other registered users of our app. We therefore recommend and encourage you to think carefully about the information that you share.

We may use your information to provide you with details about other goods or services that We think you might be interested in. We may also use your information to notify you about changes to our service.

We do not recommend that you give you your email address, phone number, full name or address or other sensitive personal information. When you post information about yourself or use the messaging feature, the personal information you share is at your own risk. If you post anything which breaches our Terms, We reserve the right to terminate your account.

Why does Socible collect information about you?

Other than for the purposes set out above, we will collect information about you:

  • to administer our app and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes;
  • to improve our app to ensure that content is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your device;
  • to allow you to participate in interactive features of our service, when you choose to do so;
  • as part of our efforts to keep our app safe and secure;
  • to measure or understand the effectiveness of advertising We serve to you and others, and to deliver relevant advertising to you;
  • to make suggestions and recommendations to you and other users of our app about goods or services that may interest you or them.

What does Socible do with the information we receive from other sources?

We may combine the information which you give to us and information We collect about you and use this for the purposes set out above (depending on the types of information we receive).

Will Socible share your information with third parties?

We may disclose some or all of the data We collect from you when you download or use our app to the following third parties:

  • Business partners, suppliers and sub-contractors for the performance of any contract We enter into with them or you.
  • Advertisers and advertising networks that require the data to select and serve relevant adverts to you and others.
  • Analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our app.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that We sell or buy any business or assets, in which case We may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If our app is acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If We are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our app, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

Other people’s data

You may not user other users’ information for commercial purposes, to spam, harass or to make unlawful threats. We reserve the right to terminate the accounts of any user who misuses other users’ information or otherwise violate the Terms.

Where do we store your data?

The data that We collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area ("EEA").

It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the provision of support services. By submitting your personal data, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where We have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our app, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although We will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our app; any transmission is at your own risk. Once We have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

You have the right to ask us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes. We will usually inform you (before collecting your data) if We intend to use your data for such purposes or if we intend to disclose your information to any third party for such purposes. Access to information

The Act gives you the right to access information held about you. Your right of access can be exercised in accordance with the Act. Any access request may be subject to a fee of £10 to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information We hold about you.

Changes to our privacy policy

Any changes We may make to our privacy policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you by email or when you next start our app. You may be required to read and accept them to continue your use of our app.
